SP500 Longer Term Viewpoint

We are working on our 2023 Outlook and this year our focus will be on uncovering the most important themes as opposed to picking levels (almost impossible) that will truly impact markets during the year. A few of the themes we are considering range from geopolitical, to climate variability, to deflation and global recession. In a world awash in AI and ML (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, of which we had the pleasure of being invited to the MIT Quant Finance Club discussion on AI/ML and the future of prediction and modeling in regards to the economy and finance. One thing we did take away from the conference is that many of the astute and esteemed voices in the field believe there is a long way to go and that as time moves forward perhaps AI/MLs pivotal role will be in reinforcement or “corrective AI” as one participant called it. Corrective AI blends the best of what we can offer in AI and ML and works alongside current practitioners in the field, think assisted driving, assisted radiology analysis, etc. It didn’t seem like the focus was AI taking a sentient role and overtaking mankind but rather coexisting in a mutually beneficial environment. It was actually refreshing to hear.

Anyhow it is our belief that this technology can enhance and improve humanities structure in more ways than we can imagine! So that too may be an area that will begin to shape our digital future and change our system of finance and economics all together.
